Golden States of
Grace
Just Communities, the Fund for Santa
Barbara, and the Walter H. Capps Center for the Study of
Ethics, Religion, and Public Life at UCSB are collaborating
to bring a unique photographic exhibit entitled,
Golden States of Grace: Prayers of the Disinherited
(by Rick Nahmias) to Santa Barbara September 19-December 12.

Toward Justice
Workshop: Gender Inequality &
Sexism
Just Communities offers
one-day experiential workshops on various topics focusing on
inequity.
It is
ideal for students, educators, activists, counselors, employers,
managers and anyone who wishes to understand and address issues of
equity and inclusion in their own lives, their workplaces, and their
communities.
The next workshop is on
Gender Inequality & Sexism, which will be held on
October 11 St. John Neuman Church (966 W. Orchard St., Santa
Maria) from 9am-4:30pm.

Community Forums
on Schools & Law Enforcement
As part of
our ongoing partnership with the Collaborative Communities
Foundation, Just Communities will be hosting follow-up sessions to
the May 29, 2008 Forum on Youth Violence. The first meeting
focusing on Teachers/Schools will take place Tuesday, October
21 from 6-8pm. The second meeting focusing on Law
Enforcement is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28 from 6-8pm.
Both meetings will take place at 1528 Chapala Street, Santa Barbara
in the 3rd Floor Conference Room.
